What Should a Good Quality Ebook Conversion Look Like?

One of the many issues that publishers and self publishers are currently facing is what should a good quality eBook conversion look like, especially for reference titles. It’s very difficult to know what to expect from a conversion house for your specific content.

Reference / illustrated book publishers, have up till now, found it extremely difficult, time heavy and thus expensive to convert reference / illustrated books into EPUB format.

So what should you expect from a high quality eBook conversion for reference or illustrated material?
