Free College essays guideline: Tips from a PHD professor (Part 2)
I discussed the planning and preparation of the college essays in the previous part of this article guide. In this part I will cover the initiation process of college essays and useful tips to make it easy yet effective.
- THE INITIATION:
I. Data gathering:
The process of data gathering has to be really wise. If you don’t research in a wise manner, you will end up on a lot of unfitting material which you would be able to call everything but not the appropriate data. There are many types of sources that you may utilize in order to gather up the most appropriate information such as PDF documents, Google Books, www.slideshare.net, wikipedia etc. you should make the best out of all these sources as they are free to access, fast and reliable. However you should always remember that you can’t take any content word to word from any of those sources that can’t be verified. For instance, the wikipedia is a platform where anybody can change any material by simply clicking the edit link. So it means that wikipedia can only be used to learn more about a topic but it can’t be looked upon as authentic information and thus can’t be cited in your college essays.
II. Bringing the right issues:
All the college essays are written by circling around a particular topic(s), so should yours. An issue should be the one that can be discussed thoroughly and can be finally resolved. If it’s an issue that your targeted readers already know about, it’s well and good. But if it’s something that they wouldn’t know and you are going to divert their attention towards those points it’s also fine. Both the cases are well but if you are raising an issue that you think your readers aren’t aware of, you have to raise it up in a way that it looks a bit dramatic. It will give your readers a lifelike feel and you would be able to grab their attention. You may start off by showing the issue’s background and then covering the entire history, people and other instances about the concerned topic. This way you would be able to demonstrate your issue in the best manner which will play a vital role in the success of your college essays.
III. Bringing strong Arguments and solutions:
Only bringing the issues into sight is not what an essay is all about. You will need to present your arguments that have to be strong enough so you can convince your readers that your presented points or arguments hold value and authenticity. Of course, in order to prove your points and make your arguments believable, you will need back them up with strong sources and examples. You have to make certain that the sources you use to back up your claims should be authentic themselves and come from the places where only dependable data is stored. This way you would be able to give your college essays the view that the paper assessment team wants to experience.
In the next part of this article, I will tell you the things to remember and the mistakes to avoid in the college essays, so stick around.
