google book search how many full view books are there?

On google book search there are books that are fully viewable. I was wondering how many there are.

Google are always very tight-lipped about exact figures on anything. One site – http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/archives.html – says around a million but I think this is a guess.

In October 2008, Google paid $125 million following a lawsuit – http://www.reuters.com/article/internetNews/idUSTRE49R71K20081028 – but now they can show more books and print excerpts from many more.

In 2005, Google had already planned to spend $200 million on the books project – http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4395656.stm – by 2014. By now, the estimate is probably much more.

As to how many books that is, your guess is as good as anybody’s, but I should think it was in the millions.
